Any form of disease or dis-ease is a message from our body to tell us we are doing something wrong. It is a signal that we need to change our ways. It is not a signal that it's time to start taking some pill or other to cover up the dis-ease (symptoms) we are feeling.
There is always a reason for disease, usually more than one reason. Those reasons include the food we are using to fuel our bodies, reactions to toxins in our food or that we come into contact with in our daily lives, lack of exercise, lack of sleep, stress, or negative mindset or attitude interacting with our genetic make up.
Our genes are never the sole reason for our ill health. We all have our own genetic weaknesses in certain areas which will predispose us to particular diseases if we do not eat and live 'rightly'. You could say that genetics loads the gun but we still have to pull the trigger.
Our mainstream diet based on the food pyramid is failing us dismally. If it worked we simply would not have the increasing trend of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis, asthma, hypertension, high cholesterol and a multitude of health problems that threaten to overwhelm our health system.
The definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing and expecting a different result.
Alopathic medicine (your family GP) looks at your collection of symptoms, sums up this collection into a nice neat label and prescribes the appropriate pill, treatment, therapy or similar intervention to treat the symptom without addressing the cause. If you have frequent
urination, excessive
thirst, extreme
hunger, unusual
weight loss, fatigue, irritability, and blurry
vision your doctor will diagnose diabetes and prescribes medication to make your pancreas produce more insulin or your body more sensitive to the insulin it does produce. Now your diabetes symptoms will disappear, as if by magic, and a new set of symptoms (side effects) such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain,
lack of appetite, tiredness, yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes, or
dark-colored urine, weight gain, anemia, or swelling in the legs or ankles will take their place.
You could liken it to finding a leak dripping from the ceiling in your living room. You go and buy some sealing paint (pun intended) and paint over the stain that is now on your ceiling. Next time it rains the area you painted is dry but now you develop a leaking ring (side effect) around the original stain.
The alopathic approach to diabetes focuses on treating the symptoms or risk factors of the disease rather than the causes.
All of our attention is on treatments that lower blood sugar (diabetes
drugs and insulin), lower high blood pressure (anti-hypertensive
drugs), improve cholesterol (statins), and thin the blood (aspirin).
But we never ever ask the most important question:
“Why is your blood sugar, blood pressure, or blood cholesterol too high and why is your blood too sticky and likely to clot?”
Put another way: What are the underlying causes of diabetes?
In truth, diabetes and elevated blood sugar, blood pressure and
cholesterol are simply symptoms that result from problems with your
diet, lifestyle and environmental toxins interacting with your unique
genetic susceptibilities.
Using medication or surgery to
treat imbalanced blood sugar, high cholesterol, high blood pressure,
and other complications of diabetes is like mopping the floor while the
sink is overflowing.
Contrary to what your doctor may tell you, most disease is completely avoidable, reversible and curable.
If you want to avoid disease or treat existing disease without medications and drugs a Comprehensive Initial Health Consultation is the first step. Contact me to schedule an appointment.
Remember - Doctors don't train in health, they train in medicine.
(Warning: If you are currently taking medication for any serious condition do NOT discontinue your medication - schedule a consultation)
